Search Results
When you run an Animal Search, a Breeder Search, or look at a Progeny Report you will see a Search Results page. The various types of Search Results pages are very similar and offer a number of features to help you find the information you are looking for. Please read the information below for more details.

Browsing the Search Results
Search Results are shown to you in one or more tables, depending on how many records were found. The two lines above the Search Results table heading provide the following information about the Search Results: how many records (a record is one line of the Search Results table and has information about one item in the Search Results) were found and which ones are being shown on this page; the search criteria that was used; how many pages of Search Results there are and which page you are looking at; and (if there is more than one page) navigation controls to see other pages of the Search Results.
To navigate between pages of Search Results you can either use the Previous and Next links, or you can select a Page # from the 'Go To Page' pulldown and click the Go button to see that page of Search Results.
Custom Search Results Format
Using the 'Customize/Custom Search Results Format' link above the Search Results table at the left, you can choose which fields that you want shown in the table and also how many rows you want per page. If you haven't yet set up a Custom Search Results Format, then you will see the 'Customize Search ...' link. If you have already set one up, they you will see the message 'Your Custom Search Results Format has been loaded' and you can click the 'Custom Search ...' link to change your settings. Clicking either link will take you to the 'Customize Search Results' page, which shows you a form that you can use to make your selections. You can add columns by checking the boxes or remove them by unchecking the boxes. When you click 'Submit' on the form, your changes will be recorded and you will be sent back to the Search Results page that you had been viewing, with your new changes in effect. You can click the 'Restore Defaults' button of the form to change the settings back to default.
Note that the 'Custom Search Results Format' feature uses a 'cookie' to store your settings, so that they are remembered next time you view the Search Results page. If you don't have cookies enabled in your browser, then this feature will not work. If you click the 'Custom(ize) Search Results ...' link with cookies disabled, you will see some hints on how to enable cookies for this web site in your browser. Using the Search Results Table
Within the Search Results Table, you will find various links that you can click for additional information. For example, the various little blue buttons link to information about the animal on that line of the results.
You can resort the Search Results by clicking one of the column headings (if the column can be used as a sort order, then the column heading will be a link) and the Search Results will be sorted by that column in ascending order (from low to high down the page.) A blue arrow indicates the current sort order. An arrow pointing down indicates ascending order top to bottom. You can click on the column heading that has the arrow to reverse the sort order (e.g., change from ascending to descending.) Feel free to experiment with this feature to see how it works. This feature can be helpful when looking through Search Results with a large number of items.
